To ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and providers, Advanced ENT has limited our operational hours and staff due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our offices will now be opened from 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. Our Stratford office will remain closed. Starting the week of May 4th we will start seeing more patients in our offices with a limited schedule and heightened safety measures. Telemedicine appointments will still be available for higher risk patients and for routine follow ups (test results, prescription refills, etc). PLEASE CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SAFETY MEASURES PRIOR TO YOUR OFFICE VISIT.

Swimmer’s ear is an infection in the external ear canal. Although it is more common during the swimming season, it can occur at any time of year and is not necessarily related to swimming. Excessive moisture in the ear canal can lead to an over growth of fungus and bacteria. Besides the buildup of moisture in the ear canal, otitis externa is frequently caused by trauma to the ear canal from self-cleaning and irrigations. The condition is easily treated with either acidifying ear drops or antibiotic ear drops. However, in order for the drops to be effective, the ear canal should be meticulously debrided of any wax and fungal matter. Oral antibiotics are rarely needed unless the infection has spread beyond the ear canal.

Some of the more common ear and hearing problems are listed below. Please click on the links below to learn more. For more information about any of these disorders and conditions or for questions about a condition not listed here, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
